24th March 2011 – Akira @ The Silver Bullet

Offering excellent live music from four amazing acts, great value drinks and the finest sound from this stunning north London venue.

Akira Records Presents:

MARCH ON ROME

www.myspace.com/marchonrome

March On Rome are a 6 piece rock/alternative band from Essex, reminiscent of Muse/Foals in sound. With a fan-base that is growing fast, be sure to get in early to see this talented lot up close.

TO ARMS ETC

www.myspace.com/toarmsetc

To Arms Etc’s music is a complex mix that calls to mind such diverse artists as Van der Graaf Generator, Devo, Spiritualized and Les Rita Mitsouko. Time signatures come and go (though never at the expense of the song), lyrical images rub up and occasionally jar against each other – as in life, the mood is always threatening to turn. The band has almost finished mixing its second album with producer Ben Thackeray.

PHANTOM

Phantom are an awesome Canadian/British duo currently making waves on the London music scene. Having released their critically acclaimed album “Smoke & Mirrors” in August last year, Phantom use a combination of ethereal vocals and lush e-bowed guitars over a dense treated background. It’s a soundscape that is both original and enchanting.

BLACKWATER

www.myspace.com/blackwateruk

Blackwater are a London-based outfit formed in late July 2010. With catchy, upbeat songs that will have you singing along in minutes, their energy on stage as a band is electric and completely infectious. Don’t miss out.
