7th June – Mi7 & Akira @ Proud Camden – Industry Showcase Night

We are really excited this month as not only have we teamed up with the mighty MI7 Records, we’ve also got a line-up of really great artists to present. The ethos of our combined night is simply to showcase the best up and coming bands and those on the cusp of big things. As filter for new music and an artist collective, we are intent on finding and promoting the most exciting acts around right now. Come down and enjoy what promises to be a spectacular show.

// HOT FEET //

Hot Feet are an incredibly talented folk, blues’n’roll trio who draw from an eclectic mix of musical influences: from Delta blues, to 60’s folk, to Classical, to Gypsy Jazz. Soft catchy melodies enchantingly create a unique, haunting fusion.

// THE STOW //

The Stow combine indie pop and hip hop in catchy songs and energetic performances that have caused a stir on various stages across London. The Stow’s ability to fire up an audience also gained them a support slot with VV Brown on her 12 date Traveling Like The Light tour in November ’09. With an airing on BBC Introducing Live Sessions already pencilled in, 2011 iooks like its going to be an even bigger year for The Stow, as they change perceptions of what a band should sound like.

My First Tooth is the totally encapsulating indie-folk creation of singer-songwriter Ross Witt and violinist Sophie Galpin. Taking influence from modern indie heroes such as Eels, Okkervil River and Neutral Milk Hotel, My First Tooth have crafted ambitious and beautiful songs aching with subtle heartbroken soul and touching melodies.

// MOVE //

Meet MOVE. MOVE started organically when Jordan, Kane and the twins Andy and Tom began living together at their Australian beachside HQ, a run down apartment doomed for demolition. By taking their creativity to the walls, they formed a den in which MOVE was found and have gone on to play shows all around Australia. After relocating to NYC for the better half of 2009, MOVE have now based themselves in London where they have begun recording their debut EP due 2011

With her new EP out now, Fiona Bevan is a fiery sweet singer songwriter who pries into the dark, obsessive corners of love via folk, jazz and pop.
