SilverFlec are releasing a sparkling EP in 2010 combined with a Single on itunes. It’s been a long time since SilverFlec have braced the stage in London, they’ve been away writing and have a great live set in store for you. Come to the very special EP Launch Party and catch the full live band show.
21 October at 20:00 – 22 October at 01:00
The Silver boys have been making a big impression in their short time playing around London and Brighton, for this is a collective that are not afraid to experiment with genres. At first there are some obvious Incubus/RATM influences but these are intelligently interspersed with prog-rock, ambience, experimental effects and indie interludes which give the guys a whole sound of their own.
Expect highly conductive funked-up melodic grooves, Silver-painted bodies, catchy hooks, heavy fuzz, inventive evolving song structures and a collection of musicians like you’ve never heard before.
So delve into some progressive grooves with a flash of funk, if you’re lucky they’ll show you their sensitive side… and blow your mind.
also featuring –
The Colour Movement won’t be unsigned for much longer… “Young Cambridge rockers, who sound incredibly accomplished for their tender years and should follow Razorlight into the chart.” – Time Out. “It’s just a matter of time.” – XFM. Akira recommends ‘Save Me’ – a genuinely brilliant song that should be on commercial radio.
An amazing band who are already causing quite a stir. At the past few Akira nights they have wowed audiences with their dual harmonies and their shoegaze style Folk/Electro/Pop. This band has been creating a real buzz in London with a fantastic collection of songs and they WILL go onto bigger things. Catch them now before they’re on your TV screens!
Forming in 2004 as ‘The Rylics’ the boys went on to play hundreds of shows gaining a reputation on the underground circuit as one of the best live bands around. After receiving coverage on radio up and down the country, getting rave reviews and sharing the stage with the likes of Bloc Party and The Auteur along the way, under their new guise they are ready to take London by storm!
Hosted by AKIRA.
The ethos of Akira is to feature nothing but good music, booking only talented bands either already with Label interest or on the cusp of bigger things – and as a result having good relationships with A&R.
Four fantastic artists play the night with great support bands and Akira House DJs til 1am.
