Every month we select our favourite artists from the UK and around the World and invite them to come and play with us. This is known as ‘WOLF CLUB’, happening at London’s XOYO; a living, breathing hub for the best Art, Music, Culture and Media events that the capital has to offer. The space will hopefully become our living room for this event, and we aim to make Wolf Club the best god damn party in the city.

►Phaeleh (DJ SET)
For the first Wolf Club we have invited one of our favourite Producers/DJs along. As soon as we heard the magnificent ‘Afterglow’ we fell in love and Phaeleh was an obvious choice to headline our very first club night.
In 2006, classically trained musician and electronic sound scientist Matt Preston was swept up in the wake of the Dubstep phenomenon. His diverse influences resulted in an equally diverse musical output, ranging from the euphoric heights of Nordic electronica through cinematic breakbeat to the depth charges of Dubstep.
Phaeleh’s unique sound has garnered support from the scene’s leading artists, including Skream, N-Type, Scuba and Kryptic Minds, as well as radio support on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Kiss and XFM. His recent remixes for Niki & the Dove and Ruff Diamonds have seen him the “go to” man for a chart grazing bass heavy rework!
►Illum Sphere (LIVE)
Like many of our favourite artists, and people, Illum Sphere is a Mancunian and after remembering his mesmerising set at Soundwave Croatia last year we felt we had to invite him along to come and play with us. But when Mary Anne Hobbs, Thom Yorke and Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder crew are among your admirers you certainly deserve an invitation to play at any party.
Having began locally by starting the Hoya:Hoya club night with Jonny Dub, and subsequently releasing an EP on Fat City in 2009, Illum Sphere’s career quickly went global, with artists and fans alike jonesin’ for gigs, releases and remixes. We are of course proud to add Wolf Club to his 2012 itinerary.
►Jono McCleery (LIVE)
We are a massive fan of Jono McCleery as he is one of the leading figure’s in the folktronic scene, and we are privileged that he accepted our invitation to pay the first Wolf Club. Jono McCleery’s debut album ‘Darkest Light’ was completed in 2008. Self-produced, and totally funded by his fans it earned him the keen eye of leading UK imprint Ninja Tune who signed him and where recently he has released his critically acclaimed masterpiece ‘There is’. Described as ‘Miles Davis, Massive Attack, John Martyn, Fink and Radiohead wrapped up in one exquisitely produced album’, his live set of folk and cinematic electronica is not to be missed!
►Hiatus & Shura (LIVE)
Not only are we big fans of these guys but they’re part of our crew, we hang out an’ that. In fact Hiatus first saw Shura at one of our gig nights a long time ago back when we were producing Shura’s music. Anyway thank god they met and started making music together because bloody hell they’re good!
Hiatus & Shura’s fans include Bonobo, Jamie Woon, Romy of The xx, Rob Da Bank, Eddy Temple Morris, us and pretty much anyone who has listened to their amazing music.
►Owsey (DJ SET)
Now this guy, this guy is phenomenal. If you’re a fan of ambient, dreamy music that pulls from within the soul of the artist, you’ve found it right here. This music is beautiful, and this artist has found a way to bring out your inner-most thoughts melodically and turn them into something tangible to the ear. Owsey (pronounced “Oh-zee”) stems from Northern Ireland, and if you’ve ever thought about the beauty that is Ireland, it comes to life in his music. Owsey is already getting a lot of interest from Labels after remixing Ellie Goulding and Birdy and as soon as we were introduced to his stuff (by Shura) we felt we had to ask him along to play his first DJ set. Yes that’s right people, FIRST DJ SET. This is a name you’re going to be hearing a lot more about and we are very grateful he’s accepted our invitation to play our very first club night.
►Mt^ Wolf (LIVE)
Yes that’s right we’re also going to playing a set for you darlings but you need to make sure you’re there early to check out the curators of this very special evening.
