Akira’s Song of the Day: Allman Brown – Fields of England feat. Sophie Jamieson

allman sophie

Here’s a new one from our man Allman Brown featuring the wonderful Sophie Jamieson. Their voices work perfectly together and this track is beautiful. Pre-order Allman Brown’s EP ‘Sons and Daughters’ here, available via Akira Records on 2nd September.

I’ve been a fan of Sophie Jamieson for a while, she’s played many of my acoustic nights (in fact I think that’s where these two met). I don’t mean to blow my own trumpet but some of the greatest collaborations of all time have come as a result of my acoustic nights, Hiatus & Shura, Allman and Sophie, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding… I may have lied about that last one, but I hated that collaboration, it made me want to be sick in my mouth watching the video, it’s almost as bad as Matt Cardle and Mel C together, but not quite, because nothing is as bad as that… Anyway check out some of Sophie’s songs below, she’s really nailed the recordings, if you’re a fan of Daughter’s soundscapes you’ll enjoy her music. My personal fave is Dinah, but Waterloo is lush also.
